David Chadwick

A native of North Carolina, Dr. David Chadwick graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill where he played basketball and was a member of the 1969 NCAA Final Four Basketball Team. In addition to his undergraduate degree in Communications, David has a graduate degree in Counseling from the University of Florida plus a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary.

David has been the pastor of Forest Hill Church since 1980 where worship has grown from 180 to more than 6,000 with campuses located in Ballantyne, Fort Mill, South Park and Waxhaw. In addition, he hosts Moments of Hope with David Chadwick, a local weekly radio program on WBT 1110AM -- intersecting contemporary issues from a faith and values perspective.

David's teachings are designed to take you deeper in your faith by unpacking Biblical truths and connecting them to your daily life. What does scripture say about relationships, family, marriage, leadership, work and much more? David takes the mystery out of Scripture with humor, humility and a passion for Christ and connects us back to God's original intent for His people.

Having gleaned from his years of playing basketball for Dean Smith, David has written The Twelve Leadership Principles of Dean Smith and has developed a successful leadership seminar based on the principles outlined in the book. In addition, he has written My Father, My Friend, reflecting on what his father taught him about life, relationships, marriage and faith and Moments of Hope, written after the attacks of September 11, 2001. In March 2016, David and his wife Marilynn released their books The Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Wife and The Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Husband, reflecting on the lost art of honor in today's culture.

David and Marilynn have four children, Bethany, David Banner, Michael, son-in-law Ryan, daughter-in-law Jessie and three grandchildren.
