Dr. Joyce Brothers once said, "Nothing will more effectively inspire you to change than having a beautiful example to follow."  What a powerful statement this is, in two areas: First, for ourselves.  If we want to change destructive behavior, find someone to emulate, someone you admire and want to be like.  Talk to them, if possible, regarding why they are successful.  Make a list of their positive attributes.  Decide today to cast aside your bad and inherit from them their good.

Second, for others, become that example!  This is especially true if we're a parent.  Decide today to live your lives in such a way that someone would want to follow your beautiful example.  Be an example to someone so that another would want to emulate your life.

Now think how different the world would be if there were more positive examples to follow and if you were one of those examples.  I think more people would be set free from their patterns of destructive behavior.

And the world would be a better place in which to live.
