An important part of family life, in my opinion, are regular times together that are always remembered by the kids. Dinner time can be one of those times. One of my father friends sits down with the kids and asks each one to share the best and worst thing that happened to them during the day. Another idea is regular, weekly family devotions. It's a time every week when everyone is together and a spiritual truth is shared and everyone has the opportunity to share a particular prayer need and all pray for one another.
Family vacations fall into this category too. Annually, memories are created in the minds of kids as the family gets outside the city for "alone" time together.
For my kids, these regular, weekly and annual times are what they remember the most. Frankly, they are what I remember the most! Remember: you're not just creating kids, you're creating memories for your kids…and the parents!
