Preparation Is Half the Victory! Miguel de Cervantes was born in Spain in 1547. He was

injured in battle and his left hand was permanently

crippled.  But he loved writing and despite this handicap, he

created Don Quixote, often called the first true modern novel.

However, he wrote for decades, constantly improving his skills

over time, before achieving this success.  Cervantes wrote, “To be

prepared is half the victory.”  We should listen to him.  Constant

training and preparation to improve your skills will pay off when

opportunities arise. You never know when your skills will prove

useful, but being prepared will help you meet life’s challenges.

New assignments are chances for you to prepare, so use what you

are learning now to be prepared for challenges in the future.
