Unique Creature Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say: Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

Your gifts may be evident to others or perhaps known only to you. Either way, never discount your gifts or think they are of little or no benefit to the world. When you count your blessings remember the unique gifts and talents that God has given you and remember this: No race can prosper until it learns there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem.

You are a unique creature. You have unique gifts. Celebrate those gifts today. Don’t try to be somebody you’re not.  When you exist as who you are, you will celebrate life.
