Today's verses are Mark 14:12-14: "And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lam, his disciples said to him, 'Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?'  And he sent two of his disciples and said to them, 'Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you.  Follow him, and wherever he enters, say to the master  of the house, 'The teachers says, Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'" Jesus is within hours of leaving his disciples and going to the cross.  But he first wants to have the Passover with them.  This annual, important celebration of the Jews, remembering their liberation from Egypt centuries earlier, would soon take on new meaning for Jesus' disciples.

I find it fascinating that Jesus had already arranged, in specific detail, everything needed for the Passover to be celebrated with his disciples--even the room where it was to be held.  Two of his disciples were told to go into the city where they would told they would find and do these specific things:

1. A man carrying a jar...

2. They were to follow him...

3. The house where he entered they were to follow him into a house...

4.  And find the Master of the house and ask him...

5.  About how Jesus had previously arranged for him to give the disciples a room...

6.  Where the Passover would be held.

Did you catch all the specific details that Jesus had pre-arranged for the Passover to take place?  It is amazing!  It gives credence to the old saying that paying close attention to small details, done over time, will lead to success.  Jesus must have believed this teaching, as evidenced by his attention to detail in his own life, especially as is seen here in preparation for his last Passover with his disciples.

Whatever you do today, pay attention to details.  Oversee them well.  Do them well.  Don't think them to be unimportant.  They are.

And it's true: doing small things well, over time, leads to success.

Jesus is a perfect example of this truth.
