Today's verses are John 1:29,30: "The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and he said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!  This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.'" My child, in these two verses, John gave to me the absolute highest affirmation of who I am.  One day, as he saw me coming, he exclaims that I am the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!  Every Jew would understand this significance of me as the Lamb of God.  You should too.

The Passover Lamb was sacrificed and its blood placed on the door posts of every Jewish home.  God's wrath was being poured out on the Egyptians.  Therefore, the angel of death would "pass over" their homes, thus not allowing death to occur for the first born son of these Jewish homes.  This sacrificed lamb had to be perfect and unblemished in every possible way.  Only a perfect lamb could be offered as a substitution for their sin.  Every year since then, a Passover Lamb had been sacrificed by Jewish families, not only to remember this significant event, but also as a way to claim forgiveness for their sins for the next year.

I am the Passover Lamb!  I am the fulfillment of this annual sacrifice!  My death on the cross redeems all from their sins forever.  Through my death, I grant all who believe in me eternal salvation!  Death "passes over" all who believe in me.  My death frees all who believe from eternal separation from the Father, sin and the power of the evil one.

But please don't see me only as a cuddly, warm, loving Lamb of God.  This would be a mistake.  I'm also the warrior Lamb John the apostle saw in his end times vision (Revelation 5:6-13; 7:17; 21:22-23; 22:1-3).  As this warrior Lamb, one day I will bring judgment against all evil and sin.  I will eradicate all evil from the face of this earth.  I will create and new heavens and a new earth.  No one will get away with their injustice perpetrated against another.  I will bring universal victory to my cause!  Trust me here, too!

Your sins are forever forgiven.  I paid the price for them, on the cross called Calvary.  I've taken the Father's wrath upon myself so that you would not have to face his wrath--ever!  If you ever doubt my love, look at this sacrifice on the cross.  Look at the extreme to which the Father would go to bring you home.  "This is love, not that you loved him but that he first loved us and gave his life as an atonement for our sin" (I John 4:10).  Feel no guilt.  Experience no condemnation.  Your sins are forever forgiven because I am the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

I rank before John.  I rank before you.  I am the preeminent Creator of all, including you.  I paid the price for your sin on the cross.  I substituted my life for yours.  Give me your life today.  Trust me with your life today.

Your sins are forgiven...forever!
