Today's verses are John 1:39,40: "He said to them, 'Come and you will see. So they came and saw where he was staying and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard John speak and followed was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother." My child, I want you to be like Andrew and John. Most people say to me, "When I see, then I'll come to you. Once I see who you are and your mighty works, then I'll come in faith to you and believe." But that is not the best foundation of faith. Don't you understand? My greatest desire is to build faith in you? You will take your faith into eternity. It is what will sustain you forever. That's why I said, in Luke 18:8, when I come back again, will I find faith on earth?
I don't want you first to see mighty works and then have faith given to you. I want you first to come to me, believe, and then you will see me perform mighty works in your life. That is what Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, and John did. They came to me. They spent time with me. They spent an entire day with me. Their faith developed. They decided to follow me. Then they witnessed my mighty works.
But they first spent time with me. They learned of me. They learned from me. They heard my teachings. They learned of my ways. We became friends. They learned they could trust me in all things.
Come to me today if you are weary and heavy of heart. First, trust me with your life. Trust me with your cares. Trust me with your burdens. Trust me with all that you are presently carrying. Put them on my shoulders today. Come to me. When you do, you'll see that your burdens become lighter and easier. I can be trusted to take care of you and every one of your problems. I will give you rest for your tired, weary soul. Come to me. Then see my mighty care for you. Come and then you'll see how I can care for you.
I will not force you to follow me. I cannot convince you that if you come to me you will see what I can do for you. But my invitation is always there. It is always available to you. Give me your life today. I will take care of you. Trust me. It's true.
Just come. And then you will see.
