I read this quote this week on marriage.  I thought it was really good and I wanted to share it with you today.  It reads: "One of the nicest things you can say to your partner , 'If I had it to do it over again, I'd choose you again.  Again and again."

Not only did I read this quote, I decided to put it into action in my own marriage.  One evening, I was alone with my wife of 30 plus years.  We were talking about several different issues.  There was a pause in the conversation.  Then I looked at her and said with a smile, "You know, if I had to remake the marriage decision about marrying you, I'd choose you again.  Again and again!"

She thanked me profusely.  Then, as I'd hoped, she said she would choose me again (though she didn't say the "again and again" part—but I think that's ok).  It caused warmth in both of our hearts.  We spend some time reliving memories together.  We thanked God for the gift of our lives together, the good and the bad.

It was a brief moment that made our marriage stronger.  Why don't you try it?  When you get a chance, say to your spouse, "If I had to do it over again, I'd choose you again and again."

I do think it makes a difference!
