Today's verses are John 10:7-9: "So Jesus again said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep, all who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.  I am the door.  If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and I will go in and out and find pasture.'" My child, again, I introduce this teaching with the significant words, "Truly, truly, I say to you."  Again, this always expresses extreme importance.  Again, it always introduces a teaching that is of extraordinary value.

What did I teach?  That I am the door to eternal salvation.  I'm not a door.  I am not one among many other doors.  I am the door.  I am the only way someone can become a part of the people of God.  I am the exclusive door to eternal life.

Note too that I again used the "I am" statement, as I had done earlier when I said, "I am the bread of life" (6:35,48,51); and "I am the light of the world" (8:12,9:5).  I am the great I am!  Yes, once again, I am making an exclusive claim to deity.  But I am also saying no one can come to my Father in heaven except through me, the only. unique, exclusive door to eternal life.

All who came before me, claiming to be the Messiah, were mere pretenders.  They rallied people behind them, promising them freedom from oppression.  My true sheep did not follow them.  Sadly, others were led into armed conflict where they were humiliated and killed.  They were thieves and robbers.  They stole from people their very lives!  Remember: the role of a spiritual shepherds is to serve the sheep for the sheep's gain, not use the sheep for the shepherd's personal gain.

My child, enter today into my life of grace through me, the door to eternal life.  It's a door that leads to a narrow path.  Not many want to walk this narrow path.  It's a path that demands self-control, a crucifixion of your own personal lusts.  But it's a road that leads to eternal life, a wide pasture where you feed daily on my grace, mercy and kindness.

Most in your world enter into life through a wide door onto a wide road.  Most people in the world are on this road.  Nothing is demanded of them.  They serve their own personal lusts and desires.  Life is about their own personal pursuit of happiness.  Life is to be served, not serve and give your life away.  But this road leads to eternal death, forever separated from me.

My child, once you enter the narrow road through me, I promise to be your eternal guide on the journey, even to the close of the age.  I will not leave you as an orphan.  I will never forsake you.  I promise to be with you and take care of you.  Anything you face, we will do it together.  Never fear, for I am with you.  When you stumble, I will uphold you with my strong, righteous right hand.  I will be a step ahead of you and be your rear guard.  I will always have your front and your back!  No weapon formed against you will prosper.  This is my promised presence to you on the narrow path.

You can trust me today.
