Mother Teresa, the great saint who served the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India, once said, "What I do, you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful."
Mother Teresa's quote is for all of us today. When we look at the problems in today's world, we become overwhelmed. Whether it's orphan care, genocide, human trafficking, hunger, clean water, etc. the needs of the world are mind-numbing!
We can't do everything. But we all can do something. That's what Mother Teresa was trying to tell us all. If everyone did small acts of love, all together, we can all do something wonderful. Collectively, we can make a difference.
Therefore, find one something, one small thing that addresses a human need and do it with great love. Show the love of God that he put in you to another person.
Yes, the needs are great. But we all have great love within us. Let's try to begin to overcome evil with good.
We can make a difference.
