Today's verses are John 13:30-32: "So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out.  And it was night.  When he had gone out, Jesus said, 'Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.  If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once.'" My child, I had just stated that the one to whom I dipped the morsel of bread in the wine is the one who would betray me.  I did so with Judas and he left us.  The devil had taken control of his life.   It was late at night.  It was appropriate that it was late at night when he left us all to betray me.  He was stimulating the powers of darkness against me with this betrayal.

Then I taught the eleven about the meaning of my cross.  Though it would be a horrific death, in it, my Father would be glorified.  In my life and death, he is glorified.  My Father in heaven is to receive glory in himself through the cross.

What does the word "glory" or "glorify" mean?  One translation is "to render a good opinion."  That means that when I glorify my Father in heaven, I am rendering a good opinion of who my Father is!  I am showing his true nature and character.  In my life and death, I am showing who he really is, how he loves you, how he gives to you unconditionally.

Many people try to make my Father the author of evil.  They even suggest that he is the One who tempts them to sin.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  My Father is good.  His mercies endure forever.  Every good and perfect gift comes from my Father who is perfect light.  There is no darkness at all to be found in him.

He is not the author of evil. He is the author of life.  The evil one, who tempted and drew Judas heart to betrayal, who entered his life at the last supper, is the author of all evil.  My Father tempts no one to sin.  The devil does.  He began tempting Eve in the Garden.  He tempted me in the wilderness.  He tempts all people to sin, you included, to be entrapped by sadistic evil for all their lives.

How do you know that my Father is good?  Look at the cross.  On the cross my Father was glorified.  On the cross you see his goodness, love, forgiveness and mercy.  On the cross you see the extent to which my Father would go to redeem humanity.  On the cross, you see humility and virtue.  You see sacrificial love that knows no boundaries.

My child, don't believe the lies of the evil one.  Know my Father in heaven is good!  Know his mercies endure forever.  I came to glorify my Father in heaven.  I came to render a good opinion of him to all humanity.  Love him today.  He loves you more than you'll ever know.

My death on the cross proves it.  It is undeniable.

You can trust me today.
