I'd like to refocus today on the last two verses we just studied: Mark 4:21-22: "And he said to them, 'Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand?  For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light." NOTHING is hidden, Jesus said.  Everything, one day, somehow, will be brought into the light.

Many people today are afraid to do something publicly because of the availability of video cameras in most everyone's cell phones.  If they do something really stupid publicly, they are afraid it will be videoed and made viral on the internet.  Their entire lives can be ruined in a single moment.  They live in shame for years, perhaps even a lifetime.  Some have even suggested it's making a difference during spring breaks for college students!  They are choosing to behave better because of the availability of camera phones!

Why should cell phones cause fear for what we may do in the dark?  Shouldn't the fact that Jesus said all things, one day, will be brought into the light?  Shouldn't the fact that the Lord God of the universe sees all that we are doing be enough to change our behavior?  Do we ever think about the fact that the Lord God of the universe sees everything that we do, publicly and privately?

If we really believe God sees all, knows all, and is making a video of our lives, what would change?  How would we live differently?

Bottom line: Jesus says this is happening, right now, today, as we are living.  There will be no secrets in heaven.

Might you choose to do something different today because of this reality?
