Psalm 132 is a psalm of ascent which means it was sung as people went to Jerusalem to worship.  Interestingly, this psalm celebrates God's promise that one of David's descendants will always sit on Jerusalem's throne.  It's a fulfillment of God's promise to Samuel when he made David king in 2 Samuel 7:14,15. It's also a psalm we should celebrate this Christmas time.  The fulfillment of this promise, for Christians, is seen in King Jesus now sitting on the throne of not only Israel but all the nations of the world.  His birth inaugurated his kingdom.  His death showed his servant leadership.  His resurrection enthrones him.

God's promises are always true.  If he promises something, he cannot lie.  Let's all continue to believe God's promises for our lives too.

He is faithful.
